Let's Talk About Touching Yourself

IMG_9906.JPG

If we don’t touch ourselves, how will we know what we like and don’t like from touch?

If we don’t touch ourselves, how will we embrace sexual curiosity?

If we don’t touch ourselves, how will we tap into our power?

Each of us have our own sexuality blueprint just like a fingerprint. What turns me on will most likely be different than what turns you on. What I deem as pleasurable may not be for you and that’s okay. The only way to discover what makes up your sexuality blueprint is trial and error. We have to explore and try things in a safe space and/or with a safe partner so that we discover our own taste in sexuality.

Just like you probably have a certain taste in clothing or the style in which you wear your clothes, the more you explore the more your style around sexuality will be revealed to you. You’ll become more comfortable with certain positions and/or toys. You will learn what you like and don’t like as far as play in the bedroom. And you’ll gain more and more confidence around asking for exactly what you want.

I’d encourage you to spend some time touching yourself today. And if it leads to mastubation, great. If not, no big deal.

But side note, a clitoris has one job- pleasure. How wildly beautiful is that?! If you have female body parts, then you have a clitoris, which sits underneath the vulva, where your labia majora and minora meet. If you’ve never looked, then it’s time to grab a mirror to view. Initially you may want to use the pads of two to three fingers to just lightly move over the tissue so you can become familiar with the tissue and sensation. The clitoris has a head, body, and legs. You’ll be able to feel the difference in your tissue and you’ll find that different spots will display different sensations.

Touch is a powerful tool. Slow it down, play, and explore.
